Same Blog (sort of), with a new name and focus

Standard

Over the past year I have enjoyed toying around with the idea of having a blog. I’ve written some things, but I haven’t had a very clear vision for what I want the blog to be about. Part of why I wanted to create a blog is because I LOVE reading blogs. Some are Christian, some are not. Regardless, I love them. These are examples of the blogs I like:

http://theestherproject.com

http://www.nerdist.com
http://www.ragamuffinsoul.com
http://redeemercitytocity.com
http://www.engadget.com
http://soulcityblog.com
http://youthministry360.com/blog
http://www.perrynoble.com

… I could go on.

Until a few days ago, I hadn’t really figured out what I wanted my blog to be about. It didn’t have a very clear vision, it didn’t have much focus. It needed work!

As of today, this blog has a new name: Movement 412. This name comes from the bible verse found in 1st Timothy 4:12 that says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”

I believe Jesus wants to use teens. And the fact that they are “just students” should never hold them back from believing that they can accomplish amazing things with God’s help. All throughout scripture, God uses young people to speak and act boldly for Him. Here at Movement 412, intend to do the same. We want to report on the ways that teens are moving and living out this verse. And we want to encourage and challenge the teens, youth leaders, and youth ministries out there who are also seeking to set an example for the world to witness. We want to represent Jesus with our whole lives, to be fully committed followers of His. This blog exists to celebrate this movement and to challenge others to be a part of it.

If you know about amazing things that God is doing in and through the youth in your life – contact me and we’ll get it on this blog!
